The Kingdom in the sky - part I

Having entered Ladakh on a misty morning, the bus drops us in the small village of Lamayuru, where we decide to spend a few days to acclimate.

This is our life here. Made of insomnia and migraine due to the altitude, amazing breakfasts of eggs, toasts and milk tea, and dazzling sunlight. It's also days spent walking up the hills, the bells ringing in the monastery, the unwavering energy of our host family, and freezing nights spent talking with other travelers.

Ladakh is paradise, they told us on the road – a kingdom out of time and space, made of naked rock and starlight. They weren't lying. This place is magic.
